In southern China, there is a beautiful town called Yangshuo, famous worldwide for its unique landscape.
Yangshuo is in fact surrounded by dozens of peaks, mountains over who knows how many thousands of years, due to erosion, have taken the particular form that can be seen today.
From Kunming (read my post on Kunming) get to Yangshuo it is very simple: air :-)
Despite being a relatively small town, Yangshuo is very busy, but it's okay, the scenery is definitely worth the trip.
In the city there are, however, of the parks where you can escape and relax away from the crowds, or alternatively, if you want to see the city from above, you can also climb up one of the many peaks in the area.
Yangshuo is very suggestive for the presence of the Li River, which enriches not just the beauty of the landscape.
If you want to admire the beauty of the area so you can also choose to take a ride on the river aboard a typical Chinese raft.
Near Yangshuo, Guilin there, another lovely city.
Perhaps Guilin is a bit 'too urbanized compared to Yangshuo, but is definitely worth a day trip to visit some of its attractions, such as: the hill of the elephant's trunk, the twin pagodas of the sun and the moon and the cave of reed flute.
Another reason to go to Yangshuo is to be able to admire the beautiful landscape that can be enjoyed from nearby Xingping.
You know the coins from 20 Yuan? Here, the portrait on the banknote landscape is just what you can see from the river that bathes Xingping.
The last day to Yanshuo was spent cycling.
In fact, once you exit from the city traffic, you get lost in the towns and back roads, so that to reach some villages in the nature is even necessary to cross the river by putting your bike on a raft.
However, in this beautiful but tiring bike ride, we saw: the hill of the moon, the giant butterfly and Yulong River.

What else to say about Yanshuo except that it is beautiful?
Of beautiful places in China I've seen several, but Yangshuo definitely deserves a closer look, or just another visit to again admire its beautiful landscapes.
