Kunming is the capital of Yunnan, in southern China.
In Kunming I flew in there from Shangri-la (read my post on Shangri-la) in just under an hour's flight.
Actually Kunming for me was just a transit stop, almost a waste of time in my journey to discover China.
Since I was not able to find the convenient travel from Shangri-la Yangshuo, I was forced to make direct flights to Kunming, and since there was no flight departing the same day, I decided to stay a night to recover a little 'tired travelers.
Given the circumstances I did not expect anything of that from Kunming, however this town at the end he has managed to surprise positively.
Kunming is in fact a relatively quiet town, with less frenetic pace of other cities and with more educated people ... in short, nothing to do with the terrible Beijing :-)
Among other things, looking on the internet I found out later that it is one of the cities with the best climate in the world: neither too hot nor too cold ... a nice surprise really!
Considering that everything is cheaper in China, Kunming could be the ideal city to relocate and live off the interest ... if it were not for the fact that in China are not like in Italy, out of work does not enter: p
Even in Kunming, however there was some attraction of note, at least according to my guide.
There was the beautiful park of the green lake, where people sing and dance without thoughts.
Another attraction worthy of Kunming note is rather the market for flowers and birds, where in fact you are selling a bit 'of everything, including beetles and various insects to serve as starters for their parties with friends :)

After two relaxing days in Kunming is the turn of Yangshuo (read my post on Yangshuo).
So with suitcases in hand we go to the airport for his departure for one of the most beautiful stages of the journey.
